My name is Colette Gabrielle Adatto, though I just go by Colette. No, I've never really had any nickname; not even my parents call me by anything except Colette. Not that I'm complaining. I like my name quite a bit. It sets me apart from others because I've only met two people in person who share my name, and have heard of only two others in passing. Also, I share my name with the French author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, who is quite an interesting person.
As for my artwork, I love to do a variety of things. I'm most skilled with plain pencils, and am learning techniques for colored pencils. I do figure drawing more often than not. I also enjoy watercolors and calligraphy. I write short stories, chapter stories, and poetry, all of which are quite different from each other. Many of my writings concern controversial topics in some way, and often characters have quite different stances on every topic.
I also do set and costume design. I have taken two years of a stage design class under a fabulous teacher, Tim Conway, who has been teaching for over 30 years. I have participated in theater since I was 9 and have lived behind the scenes since freshman year of high school. I am currently a senior and have realized that no matter what I do in my future, I cannot leave my theater behind. I love designing, building, painting, and lighting sets. I love designing costumes. I love working the sound and lighting boards, calling cues, running set pieces on stage. And I especially love teaching younger students how to work a drill, how to properly make a frame for a platform, how to paint wood to look aged, how to work a lighting board. Designing for theaters when I am older would be absolutely amazing.
On this account, I am displaying my portfolio. This will include drawings and paintings, large and small projects, set and costume designs, photography, poetry, and excerpts from my writings. If you find any of this artwork or writing elsewhere on the internet, please know I stole none of it and just enjoy having a penname where I can post anything I wish without others' opinions. On that note, if you do find my penname and all website accounts associated with it, please do not browse those, as not everything there is my best work and often created for fans of different series and such.
I hope you enjoy looking at this portfolio.
